I CHOOSE LIFE

Never choose death, God says, choose life. If God says choose life, why do you want to exit this world prematurely. The Lord knew that in this world we would have trials, but He didn’t say death is the way out of our problems. In fact, it’s selfish for anyone to want to die before their time because they are facing trials. I say this for two scriptural reasons, First, its selfish, because God never promised us a trouble-free world. Jesus said to His disciples: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

The apostle Paul also told the Roman believers who were facing intense persecution for their faith saying: “tribulation worketh patience and patience hope because the love of God is shared in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 5:3-5)

Sometimes when we can’t get our way, we wish we would die to make a statement. That’s not God’s will for us. Who then is behind this thought? The devil not God! He will be happy to see you dead rather than be alive to praise God and win souls for Christ.

And secondly, in Deuteronomy 30:19 the Lord says, “Choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” If you allow the devil to kill you, you are giving the enemy legal rights over entire generations after you. This is how people bring the curse of suicide upon their families.

I know a family of eight brothers, very well educated and influential in their community but they all committed suicide one after the other until the whole family became extinct. If you want to preserve your legacy and the destiny of your seed, choose life.

Jesus Christ is the prince of life, the devil is mad because of who you are in Christ, he wants to incite and enflame you to curse yourself to death and hell. I love the words of Jesus in John chapter 10:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

We know that if Jesus tarries everyone will someday leave this world, but how you exit is important. Will you allow the devil to kill you before your time? Or will you serve God faithfully and appreciate “His Gift of Life” so you can live to be so old that old people call you old? No one is permitted by God to take a life, whether your life or the life of another person.

Jesus came, not so we can decide at any time to end our lives, no. He came because He knew that the devil was busy stealing from us and killing man who was made in the image of God. Thank God for the Gift of Life! Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

To wish you were dead is to refuse to appreciate God’s precious gift of life, because abundant life, ‘Zoe’ - life to the overflow, is what Jesus brought to us. That is the real Christmas gift - salvation from sin and its consequence, which is death. (Romans 6:23) Jesus destroyed the devil so that we can live our life to the fullest. Join me today to declare; “I choose life!”

The prophet Jeremiah, by the inspiration of God, quotes God, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” (Jeremiah 1:5a)

And the Psalmists says, “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139: 13-16)

PRAYER: I choose Life!

Heavenly Father, I thank you for life, I appreciate and cherish my life

Today I declare that my life is a gift from God and not my own, therefore no man can take it away from me nor out of the hand of Jesus.

No sickness, no death, no fear, no devil or poverty has power to take me out of the mighty hand of Jesus.

I declare, my life is sacred to God, I hear His voice; and as I hear and follow the voice of my Father, I shall live a good long life in Jesus name.

According to Mark 11:23, I choose Life,

I shall live!
