The heart cry of God is expressed throughout scripture in both the Old and New Testaments. Quoting from the New Testament, Jesus said the greatest commandment in the law is: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30) Everything depends on this! If this aspect of our love relationship to God is not right, nothing in our life will be right. Here is what the apostle Paul has to say about how strong and powerful our love relationship with the Father has to be: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us… neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Romans 8:35,37,39)
We did not initiate this love relationship, God did. He has drawn you to Himself by sending His only Son Jesus to provide eternal life for you. Jesus laid down His life for you. In fact, God loved us even before we came into the world. He demonstrated this love for us on the cross. That is why one of the ways we can express our love for God is to choose life, listen to His voice, hold fast to Him, believe in Jesus with all of our hearts and obey His commands and teachings. And also, we have to be willing to lay down our life for the brethren. When we truly love God, we and our children will live under His open heaven blessings. A love relationship with Jesus is more important than any other single factor in your life.
