PAST TENSE OF THE BLESSING

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Ephesians 1:3-4

We are BLESSED. When God blesses a man, He confers benefits upon him. The Bible is full of verses saying just that. Notice that the passage we just read is in the past tense, “Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” (V.3)

Jesus paid the price for everything we could ever need or desire now and for eternity. Yet, so many Christians are crying out to God and acting like He hasn’t already provided for them.

Instead of begging God to BLESS us, what we ought to be doing is developing our faith in what He has already done for us.

Read Ephesians 1:3 again.

“Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

We should be meditating on what the Bible says about who we are and THE BLESSING that is on us, so that we become aware of it all the time. Let’s read what God told the Israelites by the prophet Moses.

Read Deuteronomy 11:18-21

We should be thinking about the BLESSING every day, write it on 3-by-5-inch cards on the refrigerator and on our bathroom mirrors to remind ourselves of it, and constantly saying to ourselves: “I am as BLESSED as Adam was before the Fall. I am as BLESSED as Abraham was. I am as BLESSED as Jesus is. I am BLESSED going out and BLESSED coming in!”

When you catch a revelation of what THE BLESSING has done and is doing for you, your life will never be the same. Allow the Word of God to convert your thinking, fuel your faith, and accomplish God’s will for your life.

Failure is not an option! Read Deuteronomy 28:1-8
