Step Three: Listen To The Gospel About The Holy Spirit
This is the story about the first Gentiles who received the Holy Ghost. The scripture records that they heard and believed the gospel concerning Jesus Christ. And while Peter was still speaking to them about Jesus, they believed and were all baptized in the Holy Ghost without any laying on of hands. Cornelius, his household, and other Gentiles were all baptized in the Holy Ghost
Once you realize what the baptism of the Holy Spirit entails, you have to be willing to do what the Gentiles at the house of Cornelius did. They heard and believed the word. Believing is an act of total surrender, not mental ascent. It is a total heart commitment involving three specific things:
· Your spirit
· Your soul
· Your body
The Father wants your entire life. If you notice in Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonians he said: “I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
God wants to sanctify you completely in all three parts of your being – spirit, soul, and body.
PRAYER:
Father in the name of Jesus, I surrender my entire life to You – spirit, soul, and body. I receive the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ and Your precious Holy Spirit. Fill me today with Your Spirit I pray in Jesus name.
