SET YOUR AFFECTION ON THINGS ABOVE - PART 2

Continued…

God is standing (Ayanis pulls out several packs of chips) saying;

(V.11) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

While Michkael listened to his thoughts and the voice of family and friends, having sleepless nights and stressful days, God was saying I had all this in store for you, but you didn’t set your affection on things above, instead you chose to set your affection on people, on yourself, and on your emotions rather than on Christ.

But when Michkael sets his affection on things above, his eyes are on God and he is not persuaded by the voices around him.

It doesn’t matter what people say to him, his mind cannot be influenced because he knows what he’s seeking from God, he knows what Jeremiah 29:11 says (V.11) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and n

ot of evil, to give you an expected end.” He believes the words of the Lord.. he knows that Matthew 6:33 says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these. things shall be added unto you.”

He knows that The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6b

(V.6) “…he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

and for that reason he will not turn his head left or right, he will keep his eyes on God.

Because his eyes are where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, as he diligently seeks the father, God will meet Michkael’s needs and give him so much more than he would have ever imagined. So much more than he was toiling for, and he didn’t even need to work as hard. By living a life where he fellowships with God, reading the word, and praying, God will reveal his plans, but ONLY when he is consistent.

COMPARE & CONTRAST

If Michkael sets his affection on God today, and tomorrow allows the flesh and people around to influence him, he’ll be going back and forth and won’t make any progress. He won’t receive what God has to offer him, and he won’t even be able to attain the goal that he had planned to reach.

We all have plans and goals we would like to achieve. So Instead of us focusing on trying to give ourselves, and our family the best life possible, we should set our affection on God. By doing so we will be rewarded.

Colossians 3:1 & 2

(V.1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of the Father.

(V.2)“Set your affection on things above not on things on the earth.”
