STAY CONTINUALLY FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT

“Be not drunk with wine, but be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)

God wants you to embrace the power of the Holy Spirit, so you can walk in a more victorious, fruitful life as a Christ follower, and be a blessing to those who do not yet have knowledge of Jesus. So, by faith, you can receive the power and fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit today. Even if you have received an infilling of the Spirit before, choose to receive more so you can stay continually filled with the Holy Spirit daily.

Every day I make the decision to walk in obedience to God. Scripture tells us that the Father freely gives the Holy Spirit “to those who hear and obey Him” (Acts 5:32). Jesus said, “If you truly desire to be my disciple, you must disown your life completely, embrace my ‘cross’ as your own, and surrender to my ways” (Luke 9:23 The Passion Translation). This is an attitude of the heart.

We have the daily opportunity to offer our lives to God as “his sacred, living sacrifices” and to “live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart” (Romans 12:1 TPT)—this is our authentic expression of worship.

So when I wake up in the morning and through out my day, I make it a daily habit to ask the Father to fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit. If we need to drink plenty of water on a daily basis to be healthy, how much more should we drink of the Holy Spirit? Ask the Father to fill you so you can stay spiritually sharp and healthy! Luke 11:13 says, “If imperfect parents know how to lovingly take care of their children and give them what they need, how much more will the perfect heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit’s fullness when his children ask him.”

So, in faith ask the Father to fill you, and by faith receive that infilling. “Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you” (Matthew 7:7 TPT).

PRAYER

Father today I choose to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. The same way I drink water to be healthy, I will drink of the Holy Spirit to stay spiritually sharp and healthy.
