“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10 (NLT)

The scriptures promise us abundant life and peace, but many in the church today struggle with fear and rejection.

They love God, they pray and fast, but even though they read in the Bible that they are new creatures according to (2 Corinthians 5:17) and that all things have been made new yet, they still are not free in many areas.

They struggle with many things they are unable to overcome like negative influences in their past. Let’s read (2 Corinthians 5:17)

"Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” NKJV

The literal translation of this scripture says you are “a new species of being that never existed before.”

As a young believer, I faced the reality that my life was contrary to what the Scriptures taught it should be. I noticed that same pattern with a lot of other church going people.

Some used tranquilizers and sleeping pills to sleep, while some suffered from recurring depression.

Others lived in cycles of sin that they could not break, participating in various forms of immorality, such as pornography, promiscuity and drugs. Some had recurrent illnesses.

Still others were afflicted and in bondage to fears, just as I was. I thought something was wrong!

And so, I began to ask myself some questions that will be discussed tomorrow.

My father my God, O Lord, deliver me from powers too strong for me in Jesus name.

By the authority of the name of Jesus, I break the back bone of every oppressor in my life in Jesus.

I declare my deliverance from every burden of worry and fear in my life, in Jesus name.
