THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD – Pt.1

We all face trials and battles in life- in our job, our family life, battles for mental or physical health, against temptation, as well as spiritual battles for another person or to move forward spiritually ourselves. Whatever fight we face; the Bible reveals the key strategy to experiencing victory.

Jehoshaphat shows us God's way to victory in 2 Chronicles 20:1-30.

1. ACKNOLWDGE YOUR LIMITATIONS, AFFIRM YOUR TRUST IN GOD

‘O our God, will You not judge them (the enemy)? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us, nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (v12)

In the place of the problem, don't be macho, but be humble and turn to God for His help. Look to the All-Wise and All-Powerful God. Jehoshaphat knew they were no match for the enemy, so he turned to God in prayer. When you and your household are faced with a cruel enemy and people who hate you, how do you respond? Do you look to self or turn to God for help? You can either fight your battles your way, in your own strength; or turn to God and fight it His way, trusting in His power, as Jehoshaphat and his people did.

God opposes (resist) the proud but gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6) Who is a proud person? It is not a person who speaks and does things confidently. A proud person is self-absorbed, a proud person would rather win the fight and lose the battle because it MUST always be in their favor even if they are wrong. The Bible didn’t say we should be strong in ourselves. There are families who pride themselves in intellectual and financial strength, but the believer’s strength is in the Lord. Paul told the believers in Ephesus to, “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Rest in God, and watch Him fight your battles. Jehoshaphat cried out to God like I’m crying out with some of you today:

“O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

PRAYER:

My Father, my Father, let all the enemies of my life receive the judgement of God in the name of Jesus.

Whosoever is behind the troubles I’m going through, catch fire wherever you are gathered in the name of Jesus.

Every power and every curse working against me, I return you to the sender in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, I praise You and I declare according to Isaiah 3:10, It shall be well with me and my household in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen!
