Jesus came to reveal the Father’s ‘essence’ and ‘energy.’ He is the Word made alive – The Spirit Word. Let’s look at how verse 14 is rendered in the Message Bible.
"The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish."
"The Spirit Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood. Now we can understand why the Centurion said to Jesus, “speak the word only and my servant shall be healed.” Matthew 8:8
He had a revelation of spiritual authority and also the power of words. Words are spirits they can travel from point A to point B to accomplish an assignment and back. That is why Jesus said to the disciples, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63
The Word we have received, the Word we believe and the Word we preach is not a story, it is a Spirit Word. It is a Proof producing word. If it’s not producing living proofs in our hands, then the spirit is missing. Because the letter will do us no good.
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life. 1 John 1:1
John confirmed what Jesus said by referring to the Word, as the Word of life because only the spirit of the word can give life. And so, if we are going to see miracles today, we have to look for the Spirit in the Word and not just information about God.
PRAYER:
Father in heaven, I believe that Jesus is the Spirit Word sent to save, heal and deliver me. I open my heart today and receive the Spirit. Let Your Word transform my spirit, soul and body in Jesus mighty name.
